Jasper one day in 1954 destroyed all the work in his possession. he was known for his skill and daring at rebuilding his past. only 4 pieces survived and are in the hands of others.
The first lithograph to be printed and released was "Target", which in scale and technique suggests a conte crayon drawing made directly on the stone. also the clearest suggestion we have that a target can be compared to the pupil of an eye.

The critic sees:
This piece was created in response to an experience. Jasper Johns was hanging a show of sculpture and drawing, a critic came in and started asking him what things were. He paid no attention to what Jasper said. The critic said what do you call these? Jasper said sculpture. He said why do you call them sculptures when there only casts?. They argued for a period of time about why and why not they were called sculptures..

Jasper Johns:
Ive gone with the pieces the handprint and the critic sees.
the hand starts off as the hand print and then its going to turn into a 3D hand walking.. As the hand waks it hears music and begins to start dancing. The hand starts dancing to the beat of the music. the camera will turn away from the hand and will capture the piece the critic sees.. The lips will be singing the song "All you need is love".
